Assessing Watch Quality From Photos

Ask for straight-on dial, side profile, clasp, case-back, and wrist photos in good light. Zoom in on alignment and finishing, but remember that a photograph cannot tell you how the crown feels or how the movement runs.

Photos narrow the risk; they do not perform a watchmaker’s inspection.
